Update: Here is the link for my TED profile, where you can find all my translated talks. Hope you’ll like them as much as I do. Keep rolling in your comments. http://www.ted.com/profiles/translations/id/236879

As you know that I always love the TED. I can say it is a treasure of wisdom that accumulated from people who have made changes to the world. Ideas worth spreading is the motto of TED and it delivers and stands for what its motto is all about.

I have already noted about TED open translation project and I was really excited about it. With the technological advantages, we could able to share our knowledge with people all over the world, which is very good.

I found myself that I could make some contributions to TED translation project and make precious ideas to be heard in my native language Tamil. As far as TED is concern, all the talks published in the site have the wisdom that should be absorbed by people who have the potential of making this world a better place.

With the intention of mine to contributing to TED talks to translate them in to Tamil language, I have already translated a talk of Isabel Allende who made such a nice and amusing talk about passion. I wanted to point out some interesting yet important things she had shared in her talk.

She emphasizes the passion by telling true and real stories. I strongly suggest you to watch her talk, I will embed the talk in this post any way. So let me share some insights, which are I thought to share with you. These are culled from her talk.

Those athletes had sacrificed everything to compete in the games. They all deserved to win, but there’s the element of luck. A speck of snow, an inch of ice, the force of the wind, can determine the result of a race or a game. However, what matters most — more than training or luck — is the heart. Only a fearless and determined heart will get the gold medal. It is all about passion.

Passion always has the power to pave the path for success, I reckon.

Passion lives here. Isn’t it always true? Heart is what drives us and determines our fate. That is what I need for my characters in my books: a passionate heart. I need mavericks, dissidents, adventurers, outsiders and rebels, who ask questions, bend the rules and take risks.

I want to carry in my heart forever the key word of the Olympics — passion.

I think that the time is ripe to make fundamental changes in our civilization. But for real change, we need feminine energy in the management of the world. We need a critical number of women in positions of power, and we need to nurture the feminine energy in men.

I want to make this world good. Not better, but to make it good. Why not? It is possible. Look around in this room — all this knowledge, energy, talent, and technology. Let’s get off our fannies, roll up our sleeves and get to work, passionately, in creating a perfect world.

I believe that if you want to make a change or difference in your society, firstly you should become the change you want. In that case, you don’t have to explain the world what you are up to the life and the way you live speaks itself about the facts and changes you want in the society.

Mahathma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world”. This quote is self-explanatory.

What important is trying to be ourself no matter what circumstances comes in our way and ready ourself to change for good cause. Is it good, isn’t it?

Language is the vital part of our lives where it acts as major element of describing and communicating our thoughts and feeling to one another. Having said that, there are many languages have been disappeared from the world. This is because of those particular languages are failed to get attraction from people and societies to adopt.

According to Wikipedia, language is “the form of communication considered peculiar to humankind”. Without languages human couldn’t able to make sense in their lives and others, I reckon.

When it comes to life, generally everyone knows at least a language to communicate with others. The more languages you know, the more you understand about the societies, cultures and most importantly you will have more opportunities on the go. Recent years, there is a mania thing attributed to English language, where it has become the more powerful language to learn.

Most of the people around the world are believe that by learning English language they can have better life. Obviously, each and everyone very much familiar and adopt to their native language and that is the only language where they can deliver their thoughts as it is. Languages are blend with social and cultural background, where the idioms we use in languages differ from one another. Sometimes, same idioms may have different meanings in different languages.

Recently I’ve came across an amazing and clear presentation from my all time favourite TED. The presentation was all about the world’s English mania, where the presenter Jay Walker explains why two billion people are trying to learn English language.

Walker argues that English not the language that will dominate all other languages, but it has become the language of problem solving. But, he is very clear at that native language is the most vital part in everyone’s life. In his five minutes of crystal clear presentation, he makes audience to feel what all about this English mania and eventually he succeeded in his task. Have your valuable five minutes to watch this presentation and feel the difference. Hope you will like it as much as I do. Worth a watch!

What do you feel about this presentation? Recently, TED has announced about their new innovative move of Open Translation Project, where all the TED talks will sooner available in most of the languages. Its a great idea worth spreading. There are plenty of talks have been already translated to many languages and counting. Localization of ideas and technologies is very important to define the power of ideas and technologies.

The idea is most precious stage of every task, without any idea how can one accomplish the task? TED is a nice place where you can have all insights of people who have made changes in the world. I thought TED is an idea worth spreading.

Update: You can have a clean list of all talks at TED using this spreadsheet, which is automattically update every 5 minutes. Hope this list might help you to get most of the inspiration and ideas on the go as shared in TED. Happy sharing folks!

Oscar of this year is more special to me as I always wanted to see one of my favourite person holding the Oscar for the first time, since I was thrilled with all the actions happened at Kodak theatre. It was an awesome night for lovers of movies and emotions.

People have there own way of expressing themselves when they gaining some important stages in there lives. Oscar is the milestone for every person who involves with Cinema. I was really felt emotional when people who have won the Oscars whispering their voices with excitement. The remarkable speeches made me to write a post about people views and dreams about Oscars. Boy.. Its all about life, you see.

First thing first, when they announced the Best Actress in Supporting Role, Penelope Cruz. She is nominated for portraying the fiery Maria Elena, a divorced woman still locked in a complex relationship with her ex-husband in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She came to stage and made me emotional when she whisper some words I will never forget.

“This is not going to be 45 seconds, I can say that right now. Has anybody ever fainted here? Because I might be the first one,” said Penelope with trembling body. That was extreme emotional and she also shared story how she grown up to this stage.

“I grew up in a place called Alcobendas, where this was not a very realistic dream. And I, always on the night of the Academy Awards, I stay up to watch the show and I always felt that this was, this ceremony was a moment of unity for the world because art, in any form, is and has been and will always be our universal language and we should do everything we can, everything we can, to protect its survival.”

Everything we can as long we aspire of. The first time ever I’ve heard my mother language spelled at Kodak theatre stage in Oscars. Believe it, A.R. Rahman spelled in Tamil “எல்லாப் புகழும் இறைவனுக்கே” which means “God is great”. I felt that much happy when they announced A.R. Rahman for Music Score for Slumdog Millionaire.

Since, his speech was remarkable, he said, “Before coming, I was excited and terrified. The last time I felt like that was during my marriage. There’s a dialogue from a Hindi film called “Mere paas ma hai,” which means “I have nothing but I have a mother,” so mother’s here, her blessings are there with me. I am grateful for her to have come all the way.”

And I wanna tell you about the speech he made after receiving the Oscar for the Song “Jai Ho..”, where he made me to feel what is all about life and choices.

“The essence of the film which is about optimism and the power of hope in the lives, and all my life I had a choice of hate and love. I chose love and I’m here. God bless.”

A.R. Rahman has contributed many original scores and songs for movie industry in India, his dubut “Roja” was recognized by nationally and bagged awards for music. I never gonna say that Slumdog Millionaire is the best music of Rahman, but it may be the one of the best of Rahman. Rahman deserves a lot. International cinema industry specially Hollywood will come up with Rahman’s stunning music in future. My heartfelt wishes.

Kate Winslet, I know her very much when Titanic movie came in to action in 1997, so then she has been nominated for Oscars for five times but she’s won the Oscar this time, she deserves it. The speech she’s presented after receiving Oscar is consists of her breaths than her words. She is so excited.

“Okay, that fainting thing, Penelope. I’d be lying if I hadn’t made a version of this speech before, I think I was probably eight years old and staring into the bathroom mirror. And this (holding up her statuette) would’ve been a shampoo bottle. Well, it’s not a shampoo bottle now!”, this is phenomenal an the speech will definitely take to your memories of early days.

“Most of all we had passion and we had belief, and our film shows if you have those two things, you have everything,”, said Christian Colson, producer Slumdog Millionaire when he accepted the Oscar for Best Picture. Passion and belief is the two key elements that make our life aspirations come true.

This year Oscar taught me a lot more than a movie does, you never knew people say memorable saying when they started to realise what is all about achievement. I am so glad to have bunch of individuals stating their hope and views on their success last night.

This was an amazing and stunning experience I ever had. I like people who make difference and guide us to make difference. Love you all.

Technology has evolved a lot and has introduced several innovative solutions to the entire world. Imagine a world without any means of technologically related gadgets. We can’t imagine a day without technology.

Mobile phones and computers have remarkably gained a role in each and everyone life. For me, technology is all about communication related gadgets. What do you think?

Today morning I woke up to sound of my mobile phone’s alarm screeching, and turned on radio to know the news. The radio is also attached with my mobile phone. Getting ready myself to go to office, I received a call from my colleague and who is tend to come to meet me this afternoon. I’ve reached the office and put my fingerprint on a machine to mark my arrival to the office. Then I check my emails. Still continuing works with computer. Ooh! no.. It’s all about tech, tech and tech. Technology has the power to rule myself throughout the day. Is it a normal condition?

Many people tend to blame the technology, which has made people to look like annoying. Aren’t you feeling like this? Technology has its pros and cons, where we are choosers to make our choice to make technology a boon.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 230px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rAtWxcwlsmo/SRoKwLMOS2I/AAAAAAAAAnI/V-IRPvMRlBY/s400/computer_frustration.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267534536917273442" />Modern life has been made easier with technology, but for every development, there is an equivalent increase in complication that seems to compensate those benefits. When contemporary day problems occur, we usually don’t have the time or power to figure out how to solve them and what to do with them. Here I am going to give you a guide, which can help you certain extent to solve modern problems that have aroused by technology.

When it comes to computer, the internet is the phenomenal invention of all time, where we can find anything and everything on the go. And also, there is a potential of frustration on it to find suitable things in at a given period of time. So here is a quick list on how to grip some of these darned problems.

Get rid of interruption

The main source of inefficiency comes with distractions. By eliminating distractions we can have a boost in our lifestyle. Let’s say if you’re busy with a work, while your email notification blinks on your screen. How would you face this scenario? You have nothing to do with it rather than staring at what the notification says. This is how distractions come to our way to disturb the way we doing well.

Opening multiple web browser open on the same desktop also, gives your interruptions and make you clueless where to look for that you’ve already opened to work. Eliminating these scenarios will make your day a wonderful with technology. Disturbances should be avoided, but every so often a bit of music in the background can help you focus. Of course, it doesn’t have to be weighty rock music, but a bit of melody may do you some fine.

Learn to say ‘No’

If you tend to say ‘yes’ and agree with anything, it means you’re putting yourself in to trouble.

Instead of agree with every task that you supposed to do, you can set limit and inform the relevant people that you can’t do it beyond a certain extend. Saying ‘No’ to a request is very hard, but it makes you to feel better than ever. The raising of always on culture its employer always tries to connect his/her employees every possible time to get their work done. Don’t let it happened to you. Mobile phone might become you merely disturbance for you. Set your rules and inform them to the people who mostly care about you and your work. If you bind with the rules you can have more free time by eliminating unwanted call time.

Set limits to the Internet

The Internet has become one of the number one distractions. But, you can have the internet like a source; try to do more works in offline, it may help you to gain productivity in to your lifestyle. There are plenty of applications available on the internet to help you to work online with internet distractions. Google Gears is one of the well-known, best and reliable tools to work with. Just give a shot a try it and ultimately you’ll feel the difference about the way you work with computer thus, technology related gadgets.

Switch off

This is a very efficiency way of doing things better. You have nothing to do with it, just switch off the gadgets for certain time span, which are mostly annoying you. Most likely computer and mobile phone will be come in to this category. While you doing this you’ll feel calm and better mood. You can make this habit a routine and inform your colleagues and friends that you’re not available on particular time period. You can even put a remark on your email signature stating that you only reply for mail on particular time of the day. If someone intend reach you urgently, they might call you via phone or any other means. Simply unplug and feel the difference.

Technology has introduced several gadgets; everything has the potential of being user friendly and helpful. If we make those gadgets into much troublesome we might lose our pleasant way of life to it. Don’t make technology to rules you, if you let you to control the technology it might become bane for you. But, if you control the technology to work for you by having alternative efficient ways, you probably have technology as boon. I hope.

On last Friday, I just googled for something related to php and things, those made WWW a boom, ultimately I came across with an interesting youtube video. There is a saying “Picture is worth than thousand words”. When it comes to video it can be a real validator to give the idea, what the message should known to be.

Web 2.0 is the culture, where crowd powered media has established so far. The marketing of web 2.0 products is merely done by the users not by the people who have start the business. This process may sounds strange for you but, this is true. When user gets interesting with particular web 2.0 services, he/she may intend to tell his/her collegueas to check it out. Word of mouth is the prominent and reliable way to spread the message between likely people and its the best form of advertising. Web 2.0 is sets all its standards to work with users and where users can contribute to the service and enhance the way the service be best can be.

The video says all about web 2.0 and things just in 2 minutes. What you say is as important as how you say it – this is the message that video holds itself. So here you go watch this clip and feel what web 2.0 and learn how you have contributed to this culture so far, unknowingly .

How to be a nice person for anyone who use to see all the times.

Since, I have subscribed for BBC Daily Email, as usual today morning I got an email with bunch of links to the news articles. I just go through all the headlines that were there and its short description. But, for me one headline stands out of the box. Its all about nice.

How nice that article has described about the nice. Being a nice person is somewhat difficult these days. I assume that all the hyper busy schedule has made ourselves to becoming a machine. We are scare about what to do and how to do. We just do because if the situation wants that something to be done in a particular time, we are always on the go to do it. This is where we have lose our control.

I don’t think being nice person is the issues between the people or society and us. Meaning of ‘nice’ word seems to have it full definition the people and society’s atmosphere.

In this particular article there are many remarkable quotes are been stated. Just have a look and feel at that article and let me know your comments.

Try to be a nice person yourself. But, anciently the word ‘nice’ has been used to state the “foolish and silly” according to BBC article.

Here is the link for the particular article.

What’s the point of niceness? [BBC Magazine article]

They say there are resons for everyhting that happen in our surroundings.

Today I woke up early in the morning, where birds started to sing and sun started to rise. What I really wondered is about the way the people have make their living for each day.

For weekdays, they go to office and come to home and sleep. This routine schedule continues until the Saturday. Weekends they used to go to park or somewhere and come home and sleep.

Do we really need this type of routine tasks? I don’t think so. There are many many things in the world that are really important to know. We have to aware of those things as much as we can. Since, the life has a small span to live, where we can’t acquire all the stuff on the go. But, certain extent we can, at least.

When I talking with strangers, they are really look confused while hearing my stats on world affairs. When I was told to my friend early this week via phone about the China’s earthquake and its aftermath. He is clueless about it. Shame.. really. He used to say he can’t concentrate those stuff, because of his hyper busy work schedule. Do we really want to be an employee in whole our life rather than learner.

Machine can do whatever the things that its assigned for. But we are human beings.

Life is an adventure, where we have to look everything and face every obstacles as it is. If we avoid exposing ourselves from the world or challenges of life, we might caught by fate, that’s for sure. Life is always wanting us to live it in a way where others can get something in the way we lived. We have everything in the universe. But, we tend to complain we have nothing to live with. Is it fair?

I never knew that some people don’t aware of the world affairs and nature. But, the way people act in the day today life shows me, which can exist forever. Eventually, there is a reason for everything. I believe in that we have to reasoning the things that happening in our atmosphere. However, I am really fond of knowing what is the reason for people look clueless about their social affairs – so called world incidents? If there is a reason for everything, there might be a reason for it as well, I reckon.

There was a heavy rain with thundering here in my place, yesterday. All I have saw is people rushing to their places rapidly no matter what rain gets stormy. Umbrella is an absolute solution for them to be safe from rain water. Some people seem to carry umbrella all the time with them, but others don’t.

I saw more people make their bags, and documents to cover their head. But, some people even don’t bother about the rain they are on the street without any umbrella or cover. I am really fond of wet myself with rain. But, yesterday I were away from my home, I couldn’t do anything for experience the rainy session.

For me, rain is a grace; it gives beauty to the entire earth. I love the smell of wet earth and watered plants and flowers. But, I missed that exquisite smell here in my new place, where no sandy lands available.

I can remember, when I am at my hometown, I have seen floods making their way in some areas. I used to visit those areas with an umbrella (Umbrella seems very large – my father used to call it – “Family Size Umbrella”). If there is rainy day in my village, I can smell that ’scent’ coming from wet earth. It’s really nice and amazing. No one can imitate that smell; it’s very unique at least.

Watered plants get itself a boost and look very much fresh indeed. For me, a flower with water drops seems a marvelous thing. It’s something on it for inspiration. Have you ever wondered at such type of flower? When I see such flower in real or image, am refresh my thoughts. It is such a wonderful thing. Normally flowers are well known for its softness, hence, they have much features to attract people’s heart.

I just want share, a smell, which is always an odor that couldn’t be produce anyone else, but wet earth. What goes around comes around; I believe that I can smell it once I reached my village on my vacation. Life is always gives us much things to learn and play, but it seems people simply avoid those scenarios. What is your experience in terms of rain and smell that comes from wet earth, when rain start to smashes earth by its drops for the first time?
